1.Scope

1.1 This specification covers requirements for butt welds joining lengths of still tubes. It is intended for use in conjunction with an applicable specification for still tubes which determines when butt welds are permissible. See Section 1 of Specification A 161, Specification A 200, and Specification A 271.
1.2 The values stated in inch-pound units are to be regarded as the standard.
